Lightningcast To Launch Video Network

The Washington, D.C.-based company Lightningcast is launching an in-stream video network for small and mid-sized publishers, the company announced this week. CEO Tom MacIsaac said he expects to start selling advertising on the network later this year. He added that advertisers will be able to exert some control over their ads' placement. "Advertisers will be able to target on a network or by category--news, sports, etc.--but also by site or grouping of sites," MacIsaac said. So far, he said, a dozen publishers had signed on for Instream's beta run.
