Food, Beverage Brands Unveil Royal Wedding Promos

Like products in pretty much every category, many food and beverage brands have found the upcoming wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle an irresistible opportunity to, er … engage consumers.

Here’s a sampling of some of the promotions:

*Kellogg — which has been the official cereal provider for the royal household during the reigns of three monarchs — tapped former royal chef Darren McGrady to create a “cereal-infused,” multi-course menu for a royal wedding viewing party at the Kellogg's NYC Café on the royal wedding day, May 19.

The party, which starts at 5:30 a.m. ET, will include a lesson in how to create a cereal box “fascinator” hat, edible glitter, and an appearance by Tony the Tiger. Royal wedding fanatics can go on OpenTable.com or use the OpenTable app to try to snag a reservation.

*SpikedSeltzer — whose logo features a mermaid image — is offering a $1,900 stipend toward wedding gown purchases for brides-to-be who select a mermaid silhouette gown at New York City bridal boutique Kleinfeld (of “Say Yes to the Dress” fame) during their appointments on May 19.

In addition, Kleinfeld has reserved one VIP appointment on May 19, and brides-to-be can follow @SpikedSeltzer on Instagram (through May 11) to learn how to try to snag the spot.

All of Kleinfeld’s customers on May 19 will also get to sample SpikedSeltzer’s flavors (above), and a royal cake-inspired cocktail, called “Slice of Spiked, featuring its latest flavor, Ventura Lemon.

*Tetley Tea is running a sweepstakes with a grand prize of a “Royal Diamond Teacup” with a one-carat diamond embedded in the handle. To enter, U.S. residents 18 and older can go to a Tetley Facebook page and fill out a “Which Royal Family Member Are You?” quiz, by May 19.

Also, U.S. married couples who are named Harry and Meghan, and submit their marriage certificates to sweeps@tetleyroyaldiamondteacup.com on May 19, will be eligible to receive a box of Tetley British Blend Tea each month for a year.

*Campbell came up with a “Royal Wedding Soup” recipe that includes one of Markle’s favorite foods, zucchini. The recipe can be found on the Campbell’s Kitchen website.
