Retrospect Offers Enhanced GDPR Compliance Tool

Retrospect Inc. has unveiled Retrospect 15.1, an enhanced tool for Windows and Mac to help firms comply with the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

The software allows firms to protect consumer data and delete data on customers, the company says.

In addition, Retrospect 15.1 enables firms to comply with GDPR’s “right to be forgotten” provision, using rule-based filtering to remove specific data from backups, it continues.

“GDPR represents a dramatic shift in how businesses are required to handle customer data. EU citizens now have the right to request a copy of their data and the right to be forgotten,” states Jean-Christian Dumas, Vice President of Worldwide Sales.

The new solution also provides:

  • Direct email migration and syncing
  • New cloud storage: Retrospect 15.1 provides integration with such cloud storage providers as Minio, Zenko CloudServer, SwiftStack, Aqua Ray, Cynny Space, and Synology and QNAP NAS devices
  • Windows April 2018 Update
  • Disk Archive Alto Support

Retrospect 15.1 is available for free for clients that use Retrospect 15 for Windows and Mac. Clients with prior versions can buy upgrades through the firm’s Upgrade Wizard.

The firm adds that Retrospect is available in English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, and Japanese.
