HowStuffWorks Partners With Dr. Oz, Sharecare To Launch Health Podcasts

Podcast publisher HowStuffWorks is partnering with TV host Dr. Oz and digital health company Sharecare to launch a collection of podcasts focused on health and wellbeing.

“HowStuffWorks has established a powerful distribution channel with a remarkably engaged and loyal fan base, and we believe there is tremendous opportunity to use the power of podcasting to help people live healthier, happier, more productive lives,” stated Elizabeth Shepard, general manager of digital at "The Dr. Oz Show" and Sharecare.

Sharecare operates the digital business of "The Dr. Oz Show," which includes DoctorOz.com and Dr. Oz's social media presence.

The first series in the podcast collection is called “The Dr. Oz Podcast” and features Dr. Oz and his wife, author Lisa Oz, and their conversations with high-profile figures, such as Deepak Chopra and Dr. Sanjay Gupta.

The companies plan to launch about five podcasts under the the partnership, featuring different hosts curated by Dr. Oz. 

The other podcasts will cover topics ranging from meditation to menopause.

"The Dr. Oz Podcast" and the other series launching in the Sharecare collection are the first produced by HowStuffWorks specifically dedicated to health and wellbeing.

HowStuffWorks averages more than 50 million downloads per month from its existing shows. The publisher currently produces 26 podcasts.
