Holiday Inn is launching a summer promotion with a G-rated happy hour.
The InterContinental Hotels Group brand is bringing back its Chocolate Milk Happy Hour, which offers complimentary milk and cookies in partnership with Fairlife ultra-filtered milk and Otis Spunkmeyer cookies across the U.S. in 20 select properties through Aug. 5.
The hotel chain first offered the promotion last summer as part of its “Summer of Smiles” marketing effort. Actor Gaten Matarazzo, best known for his role as Dustin Henderson on the Netflix show "Stranger Things," served as the Holiday Inn brand's Kid Ambassador throughout the summer.
This year, actress Vanessa Lachey is promoting the effort via a pop-up event open to the public in Chicago at Millennium Park’s Movies in the Park on June 26. The event will feature an oversized Holiday Inn guestroom and complimentary milk and cookies. Lachey will greet guests and share family travel tips.
Participating hotels will also have an area for guests to take photos with milk- and cookie-themed props. They will be encouraged to share on social media using the hashtag #SipDipSmile. The campaign includes a dedicated website where consumers can find out which locations are offering the promotion.
“We're continuing to evolve the brand, creating events like Chocolate Milk Happy Hour that, along with our new and innovative restaurant offerings and new contemporary guestroom and public space design, provide an enjoyable travel experience for everyone,” says Errol Williams, vice president, global Holiday Inn Brand, IHG, in a release.
