BBC is the fastest-growing online news service of the top 20 performing news sites in the U.S., according to May 2018 comScore data cited by TVNewser.
Unique visitors to BBC sites have grown more than 50% year over year, and 17% from February to May 2018. BBC sites rank No. 14 overall in unique visitors among the top 25 news and information outlets the U.S.
Following behind it is the New York Post Networks at 49% growth, Tronc at 25%, Hearst Newspapers at 21% and CNN at 19%. (NYP Networks include PageSix.com and Decider.com.)
CNN was the No. 1 U.S. news and information site for May 2018 when it came to the most unique visitors. The company had more than 144 million total unique visitors last month.
CNN Network was followed by Yahoo-HuffPost News, The Weather Company, USA Today Network and NBC News Digital.
In August, The University of Missouri’s Reynolds Journalism Institute conducted a study to analyze which news sources Americans trust. BBC News tied with Reuters as the third-most-trusted news source out of the 39 different TV, print and online brands in the study.
The Economist was the No. 1 “trusted” brand in the study.
