StrongMail Updates E-Mail Platform

In an attempt to cut down on bounce-backs and placement in spam filters, e-mail infrastructure provider StrongMail Systems today is expected to release a retooled version of its application server.

The platform now will include a live updating feature, which provides automated compliance with the major Internet service providers' fluctuating bounce-back and spam-filtering standards, and a bounce management device for monitoring delivery rates more clearly.

Dave Lewis, vice president of marketing for StrongMail--whose clients include Fox Sports, Netflix, Ticketmaster, and Clear Channel Communications--said most e-mail marketers aren't equipped to respond to ISPs' ever-changing standards. "Companies don't have the time to know what's needed to comply with industry standards, regulations, and best practices, all of which change often," Lewis said.

Two weeks ago, StrongMail reached an agreement to add Habeas' accreditation services with its deliverability tools platform, and, as a result, senders using StrongMail can now create Habeas certified e-mail, which some ISPs consider a strong indicator of the legitimacy of the e-mail's sender.

The non-exclusive deal includes cross-marketing to each other's customers, and collaboration on a series of educational seminars about improving e-mail sending practices.
