NPR, ESPN, IHeartRadio On Board For IAB Podcast Upfront

The Interactive Advertising Bureau released details on Thursday for its fourth Podcast Upfront.

Set for Sept. 6 at Convene in New York, the upfront will feature radio stalwarts like NPR, Westwood One and IHeartRadio, TV companies like Univision and ESPN, and podcast networks like Panoply and Authentic.

Podcasts have been growing at a steady clip over the past decade, but the past few years in particular have seen new business models emerge around the medium. In a statement, IAB executive vice president of industry initiatives Anna Bager noted that podcast ad revenues are forecast to double by 2020, due to the medium's “ability to tell stories in unique and intimate ways that engage today’s listeners, whether on the go or sitting at the kitchen table."
