Midnight Oil Adds IT/Security Chief; McCann New York Elevates Three

Burbank, CA-based marketing agency Midnight Oil has upped its commitment to client security with the appointment of Zach Lenz as executive vice president, IT and security, a new role at the firm.

“Security is a top-of-mind concern for executives in all industries,” said Denise Wong, who joined the agency as president in January. “Zach will ensure that we continue to protect proprietary content and follow best practices so confidential assets remain under lock and key until their intended release.”

Lenz was previously chief technology officer for Synchrony Studios, VP of information technology at TEN: The Enthusiast Network, systems engineer at companies including Ring of Fire Studios and MindOverEye, and senior vice president of systems technology at Project Worldwide.

Separately, McCann New York has elevated 18-year agency veteran Daniel Rodriguez to executive creative director to co-manage multiple accounts with his creative partner, Larry Platt.  He originally started as an art director at the agency. Some his recent work includes "The TV Doctors of America” for Cigna, recognized this year at Cannes International Festival of Creativity and The One Show, and “Comin’ Home” for Nespresso featuring George Clooney.
