Simon Data Raises $20 Million In Series B Funding

Simon Data, provider of a cloud-based data platform, has raised $20 million in Series B financing.

The funding round was led by Polaris Partners, with participation from .406 Ventures, F-Prime, and Commerce Ventures. It follows a Series A funding round in 2015. The firm has raised $32 million to date.

Dave Barrett, managing partner at Polaris Partners, is joining Simon Data’s board of directors. The board also includes Maria Cirino from .406 Ventures. .

The company offers cross-channel personalization capabilities via its customer data platform. It also drives email personalization. 

Simon Data plans to expand its product and engineering teams and focus on data science. It seeks to help clients use data to “inform and orchestrate the customer experience,” states Jason Davis, co-founder & CEO of Simon Data.

“Companies everywhere have invested tremendously in their data infrastructure, but they’re unable to capture the value held within,” Davis continues.

He adds that “marketers are demanding complex cross-channel workflows, deep insights and journey management.”   

Simon Data claims that its CDP works in any end-channel.

The firm, which has 48 employees, serves such clients as Airbnb, OpenTable, Blue Apron, TrueCar, and Rover. It was founded by Davis, Josh Neckes, and Matt Walker.

Polaris Partners invests in technology and healthcare companies across their life cycles.
