Hulu Beefs Up Engineering Team

The streaming video service Hulu is bolstering its engineering and technology team, hiring two new executives tasked with building “the best experience for viewers and continue to accelerate innovation in the streaming video space,” the company says.

The new hires are Joe Bentley, senior vice president of engineering, and Jim Denney, vice president, product management.

The company also says that it has promoted Billie Sue Chafins to vice president, software development, and head of the company’s Seattle office.

Bentley, who will lead Hulu’s software development organization, joins the company from GoPro, where he was vice president, software engineering. Denney, who will lead the company’s product team, joins from Tivo, where he was vice president, product management and strategy.

Hulu says that the company plans to hire an additional 190 roles on its technology team by the end of the year.
