George P. Johnson Scoops Up Kenwood Experiences

George P. Johnson (GPJ) is acquiring Kenwood Experiences to complement GPJ's experiential marketing services.

Founded in 1979, the San Francisco-based Kenwood develops brand experiences across a roster of clients that include Google, Visa, Capcom and Square Enix.

Under the agreement, Kenwood's nine-person team will join the GPJ staff in its San Francisco office, integrating into the established team structure based on skill and department.

Kenwood CEO Christina Crowley will be retiring and the Kenwood brand will also be phased out.

GPJ sought an agency with complementary clients and personnel with the expertise to accelerate the agency's ability to scale, given recent wins, such as Macy's, Jaguar Land Rover, Google, Salesforce and Genesis Motors, says Scott Kellner, vice president, marketing, GPJ.

Kenwood can now leverage GPJ’s global footprint and its Project Worldwide Network to benefit its clients. "It was a good business decision, and a good culture fit," he says.
