Edelman Vets Launch Strategy-, Influencer-Focused Marketing Shop

Two former Edelman global agency vice presidents -- Maggie Perlich and Pilaar Terry -- are teaming up to launch Number Twelve Marketing, a boutique agency with expertise in the development of strategic partnerships, casting, talent & influencer engagement, as well as PR and communications support.

“The traditional agency model just isn’t built to keep up anymore – the talk often outweighs the action," says Terry.

The agency debuts with a client roster that includes creative shop LO:LA, wine retailer Total Wine & More, Ingenio (parent company to Astrology.com, Horoscope.com and Keen) and digital education platform Caribu. 

Based in Los Angeles, Perlich will serve as head of talent & influencer marketing, and Terry as head of communications & strategy. They say they are staffing up quickly to accommodate growing client needs. 

The partners met in 2008 while working within Edelman’s entertainment PR and marketing division before splitting to work at various agencies, such as PMK*BNC and FleishmanHillard. The two then reunited at United Entertainment Group, a Daniel J. Edelman Company before seeing an opportunity to develop a new type of PR/marketing agency hybrid.
