Frieze Brings On New Publisher, Revcontent Taps New CEO

Earlier this week, Frieze introduced Rebecca Ann Siegel as its new publisher.

Dividing her time between New York, Berlin and London, Siegel will work with editorial director Jennifer Higgie to lead the publication’s print and digital direction.

Before joining Frieze, Siegel cofounded global culture and politics arts magazine Even, serving as its publisher. She also cohosted the podcast Hidden Noise, focused on art exhibitions and institutions in New York. Previously, Siegel held positions at New York-based art advisory firm Ruth Catone and Pace University.

Nick Chapin, Frieze director of publishing, noted Siegel’s “understating of how print and digital can work together in a fresh, modern way, while championing critical thinking.” He stated: ‘Rapid growth in our U.S. readership shows the appetite for Frieze’s global perspective on contemporary art and culture in the current climate."

Separately, content discovery platform Revcontent has tapped Omar Nicola as CEO. Founder and current CEO John Lemp will become chairman of the board of advisors.

Prior to joining Revcontent, Nicola cofounded mobile advertising technology company Kixer. Kixar was later acquired by Lakana and Nexstar Broadcasting, where Nicola held the role of senior vice president for revenue and operations.

Nicola has also held positions at Morgan Stanley, where he began his career, as well as Myspace, Evolve Media and Uproxx Studios.

During the first 90 days of his Revcontent tenure, Nicola plans to focus on the expansion of publishers and advertisers using the platform, identify technical solutions to generate additional revenue for partners and improve upon the quality of the platform’s content.
