Smart glasses company Vuzix has entered a strategic partnership with AccuWeather to bring weather reports to smart glasses.

As part of the deal, AccuWeather’s weather data will be integrated in the Vuzix Blade smart glasses, which will debut at CES in January, according to the partnership announcement.

“We will deliver up-to-date weather forecasts and tools needed to help users prepare and stay prepared for a truly personalized and intimate weather experience on a level that only AR technology can provide,” stated Steve Smith, president of AccuWeather Digital Media. 

Via augmented reality, wearers of the smart glasses can see a comprehensive weather forecast as a visual overlay in their field of vision without having to take a phone out of a pocket or purse.
