Another Former IPG Media Exec Signs On With Dentsu Aegis

Just a week after Dentsu Aegis Network corralled Brian Monahan to run its global Intel business, the company has signed up another former Mediabrands executive—Henry Tajer—to run its operations in Australia and New Zealand.

Tajer was global CEO of Mediabrands from 2015 until his departure in May of 2017. His move to Dentsu Aegis is somewhat of a surprise given that he had just joined Amazon as head of media services for the ecommerce giant’s ANZ region about five months ago.

Nick Waters, CEO of Dentsu Aegis’ Asia Pacific region issued a statement:  “I am delighted to bring Henry into the group. We have a large and diverse business across Australia and New Zealand which requires the high caliber leadership that Henry will provide.”

Tajer is just the latest of a handful of former top IPG media executives to join DAN. Nick Brien who ran Mediabrands for several years before being tapped to run McCann in 2010, is now CEO Americas.

A year ago, Matt Seiler, who succeeded Brien as Mediabrands CEO, joined Dentsu Aegis as president of brand solutions. Former Initiative president and Magna Global CEO Tim Spengler joined last fall to oversee the agency’s M1 platform and Kris Magel, who was U.S. president at Initiative after Spengler also joined last year assuming the role of president, DAN media clients.
