Self-driving startup Aurora has raised more than $530 million in Series B financing from Sequoia Capital, Amazon and funds and accounts of T. Rowe Price Associates.
Aurora is building self-driving technology, and the new funds are aimed at accelerating delivery of that technology, according to the announcement by Aurora.
Additional investors included Lightspeed Venture Partners, Geodesic, Shell Ventures and Reinvent Capital. Previous investors in the two-year-old company include Greylock and Index Ventures.
“With this newest investment, we will accelerate the development of the Aurora Driver and strengthen our team and ecosystem,” stated an Aurora blog post. “The investment and strategic partners we bring on board today will help us build an enduring company.”
Aurora last year received authorization to test autonomous vehicles in the state from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.
