Jeep is celebrating the fourth annual #4x4day, held annually on April 4, with social media content designed to engage owners and fans of the iconic brand.
The Fiat Chrysler Automobiles brand is also holding a contest for those who pre-order the Jeep Gladiator Launch Edition. The grand prize for the “Find Your Freedom” contest is $100,000, intended as one year's salary to allow the winner to take time off to enjoy the Jeep lifestyle of pursuing outdoor adventures.
Consumers can learn more details about the contest and how to enter by watching a video featuring wounded warrior and U.S. Army veteran Noah Galloway and filmed in Toledo, Ohio, home of the factory that has assembled Jeep vehicles since the 1940s.
Jeep is posting content from around the globe throughout the day to celebrate making #4x4day a day to get outdoors and celebrate with your Jeep vehicle.
Fans can post their content, tagging their Instagram Story with #4x4day and @Jeep for a chance to be featured on the brand’s official Instagram page. Jeep will repost content from owners, fans, influencers, and forums, including a Jeep Jamboree across time zones around the world to create a 24-hour 4x4 Instagram celebration.
World Surf League athletes and Jeep brand ambassadors Filipe Toledo, Malia Manuel, Jordy Smith and Nikki Van Dijk are also posting across their Instagram channels in support of 4x4Day, giving fans the opportunity to follow the four World Surf League and Olympic hopeful athletes’ adventures in the water and on the road.
Fans can also get their own 4x4Day Jeep branded gear at Jeep.com, and shipping will be free for orders made on April 4 that cost $44 or more .
The 4x4 day was launched to celebrate the freedom and adventure that come with owning a Jeep vehicle, says Tim Kuniskis, head of Jeep brand, North America.
"At Jeep, we think 4X4 Day should be a national holiday or at least an acceptable reason to take the day off from work,” Kuniskis states.
