Former Fox CMO Shannon Ryan is now president of marketing for ABC Entertainment and Disney Television Studios.
Ryan will oversee all marketing, publicity and communications strategies for the ABC Television Network, including media, creative, social, digital, publicity and talent relations.
She will also oversee the communications and marketing teams of Disney Television Studios, which include ABC Studios, Fox 21 Television Studios and 20th Century Fox Television.
Ryan had been CMO at Fox Television Group, a post she held since 2015. Ryan’s marketing team launched the highest-rated new broadcast show this season, “The Masked Singer.”
Walt Disney closed its $71.3 billion deal in acquiring half of 21st Century Fox TV and film businesses in March 2019. Ryan will report to Karey Burke, president of ABC Entertainment, and Craig Hunegs, president of Disney Television Studios.
A number of other Fox executives have move to Disney, including Peter Rice, now chairman, Walt Disney Television-co-chair, Disney Media Networks, and Dana Walden, chairman, Disney Television Studios and ABC Entertainment.
Since 2017, Rebecca Daugherty had been the network’s most senior marketing executive -- with the title executive vice president of ABC Marketing, ABC Entertainment & ABC Studios. Daugherty will report to Ryan.
