GoDaddy Integrates, Automates With Yelp

GoDaddy has opened the integration of its GoCentral website building and marketing platform into Yelp to all businesses. The company announced the integration in January. This week it released data to highlight its success.

The integration now offers an automated tool and alert that allows business owners to keep the information in the Yelp directory up to date, similar to the offering from Yext, which also supports automation of updates in a variety of directories. It's for business owners who might remember to update hours of operation on their website, but often forget to update the information in directories.

“The reality of the internet is if you build it they won’t come,” said Alisa Neymark, GoDaddy senior product manager. “You really need to get out there and market it.”

The integration allows business owners to create and claim their Yelp business listings from within the GoCentral platform. Reporting metrics includes the number of calls they receive, the number of views, and how many people search for directions. They also can see reviews.

Consumers on Yelp conducted about 10 million searches for the businesses using GoCentral in February. More than 80,000 people searched for directions and received more than 30,000 calls.

The feature has been live for a handful of businesses for several months, but now it is available to all.

The majority of users have been able to submit a claim for a Yelp listing in less than four minutes, and within the first month, businesses that enabled a Yelp page saw more than a million combined views on Yelp.

James Oregon, owner of Texas-based Auto Fix Unlimited, set up a new Yelp account through GoCentral and has already received more than 70 leads, such as quote requests, through Yelp.

While the Yelp integration supports only U.S. businesses, GoCentral also provides global integrations with Google My Business, globally. GoDaddy also integrates with Facebook for Business.
