Quantasy Acquires Muse Communications

Digital agency Quantasy is acquiring multicultural shop Muse Communications to strengthen its capabilities in multicultural and digital marketing, particularly with creative digital strategy, experiential events and social media.

Founded in 1986, Muse served as one of the first multicultural agencies specializing in campaigns specifically targeting audiences from various cultural backgrounds. The agency's roster of clients includes American Honda Motor Co., Google, Wells Fargo, The California State Lottery, and City of Hope.

Under the deal, Muse will operate as an entity under Quantasy and maintain its Santa Monica location. Muse president Shelley Yamane will continue to lead the division while founder and former CEO, Jo Muse, remains a strategic advisor.

Quantasy founder Will Campbell will oversee both companies. Campbell sees Muse and Quantasy, launched in 2011, as complimentary providers to meld "advertising, technology and culture," he says. “As the needs of our clients continue to evolve in the digital-first world, we recognized our combined companies provide the best offering as vendors in a competitive market.”

Added Campbell: "The Quantasy team has grown up as the 'digital generation,' while Muse brings so much forward-thinking experience from their years as the first multicultural agency." As an African American founder, I wanted to make Quantasy a place that brought together diverse voices to better serve clients targeting today’s consumers.”
