Havas Reports Strong First Half

Havas, the Paris-based parent of MPG and Arnold Worldwide, Thursday reported that its net profit for the first half of 2005 jumped 52 percent--reflecting net new business gains as well as a restructuring that began last year. However, the company, which was taken over by French corporate raider Vincent Bollore, lost another major account this week when Volkswagen of America pulled its business from Arnold.
