Ford Buys Another Tech Company

The Ford Smart Mobility division of the Ford Motor Company has agreed to acquire Journey Holding Corporation, a technology company specializing in software for intelligent transportation systems.

The company will be integrated with TransLoc, another Ford-owned company that provides technology for private and public transit operations.

“The combination of these transit technology companies will accelerate our efforts to help cities deliver more seamless, productive and accessible transportation solutions to their citizens and visitors,” stated Brett Wheatley, vice president Ford Mobility Marketing and Growth. “It will be key to connecting customers with the other mobility solutions in our portfolio, such as Spin e-scooters and our GoRide Health service.”

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Earlier this week, Ford Motor Company said it has acquired Quantum Signal, a defense contactor that has worked to develop algorithms to help guide self-driving vehicles.
