Healthline Media Announces Live Event For Those With Chronic Conditions

Healthline Media is launching Chronicon, a conference dedicated to people living with chronic health conditions.

The gathering, the company's first live consumer event,  will take place Oct. 28 in New York City.

Chronicon expects 200 health, wellness and social media influencers to participate, and will feature workshops on topics that include dating and nutrition; musical performances; and networking opportunities.

The event will be live-streamed for those who cannot attend. Admission is $150.

The publisher -- which reaches over 200 million people worldwide and 85 million people in the U.S. with its health-related online properties Healthline.com, MedicalNewsToday.com and Greatist.com -- is partnering with wellness advocate Nitika Chopra to create the event.

One of the event’s speakers, Eliz Martin, will discuss her struggles with multiple sclerosis and dealing with the people around her who do not understand her pain.

“All the time I hear from fellow friends who have MS how it really can be isolating,” Martin told Healthline. “Chronicon is bringing a sense of community that is tangible — it’s a place for us to gather and connect and learn and be supported.”

Healthline created a private Facebook group for those who have already purchased their tickets to join the community ahead of the live event.

Chronicon sponsors include Brodo Broth Co., Herla (beauty products), Asha Patel Designs (jewelry), Cali’flour Foods and Womanizer (adult toys).

According to Healthline, roughly 133 million Americans live with chronic health conditions. It’s a large audience: about 45% of the U.S. population has at least one chronic illness today, and the rates are expected to rise to 49% by 2030.

Healthline is also launching a new series of experiential opportunities for brands to align with consumers focused on health or healthy living.
