'SB Nation,' DraftKings Launch Site For Fantasy Sports And Betting Advice

Vox Media’s sports media brand SB Nation and DraftKings, the daily fantasy football and sports betting platform, are partnering on a new site called DraftKings Nation

The site will combine SB Nation’s reporting and experience building sports communities with DraftKings’ sports betting analysis, data and personalities.

DraftKings Nation aims to be a destination for fantasy sports and the sports-betting advice. It will have an immediate focus on the 2019 NFL season. The plan is to expand to cover the NBA, NCAA football and basketball, along with MLB and other sports.

David Fucillo, gambling editorial manager at SB Nation, teased the new platform in a post on DraftKings Nation. “We’ll have analysis on the most critical of injuries, advice on best bets of the week, and a host of other information to get you ready for every game day.”

Fucillo wrote that the two companies hope to “build a community of passionate sports fans” on the site.

DraftKings Nation will eventually introduce the “War Room,” a daily chat at SB Nation that provides real-time answers to readers’ fantasy questions.

DraftKings Nation is powered by Vox Media's proprietary publishing platform Chorus; it is part of Vox’s ad marketplace Concert.

DraftKings is the first consumer brand to join Chorus since the platform opened as an SaaS business for publishers to license last year.

“In partnership with DraftKings, we have combined our editorial vision and expertise, paired with our technology capabilities to serve passionate sports fans in this fast-growing area,” stated Jim Bankoff, chairman-CEO of Vox Media.

Ezra Kucharz, Chief Business Officer at DraftKings, added: “This partnership gives advertisers, brands and marketers a new platform to reach highly engaged and coveted sports fans.”

SB Nation claims to reach an audience of more than 65 million sports fans, making it one of the largest sports networks in the U.S. DraftKings says it has more than 11 million customers.
