HBO Max Names Key Operational Executives

WarnerMedia has announced the executive operational team for HBO Max SVOD, set to launch in Spring 2020.

The team will be headed by Tony Goncalves, CEO of Otter Media, who has been overseeing the development of HBO Max since Otter came under AT&T’s control this year.

Goncalves reports to Robert Greenblatt, chairman of WarnerMedia Entertainment and Direct-To-Consumer.

His team will implement product design, customer experience and lifecycle, acquisition and retention marketing, data reporting and insights, business development, business operations and go-to-market strategy.

Reporting to Goncalves on the team is Andy Forssell, who became executive vice president and general manager, WarnerMedia Direct-to-Consumer in May.

Forssell’s reports include Sarah Lyons, senior vice president of product experience, whose previous positions at DirecTV have included VP of OTT media products. She also oversaw the launch of AT&T’s video platform.

In addition, Katie Soo has been named senior vice president of growth marketing; Keith Camoosa, senior vice president of data insights and operations; Jess Miller, vice president of project management; and Reid DeRamus, senior director of business operations.

Executives from other WarnerMedia units who will support the HBO Max team include Sean Kisker, who will serve as executive vice president and chief strategy officer for Otter Media and Warner Media Direct-to-Consumer; Josh Walker, chief strategy officer and executive vice president of financial planning, WarnerMedia Entertainment; and Jason Press as executive vice president DTC engineering and program management for WarnerMedia Entertainment.

Kisker will report to Goncalves, Walker to WarnerMedia Entertainment executive vice president/CFO Jessica Holscott, and Press to WarnerMedia CTO Jeremy Legg.
