Partners + Napier Reveals Leadership Change

Partners + Napier is reshuffling its leadership team with founder-CEO Sharon Napier naming 15-year partner and current agency president Courtney Cotrupe as her successor as CEO.

Napier will actively continue as chair-founder at the agency, focusing on growth and talent initiatives. She will also step up her industry activities as vice chair of the 4As, among other commitments.

Cotrupe will serve alongside her new team member Rob Kottkamp as Chief Creative Officer. Kottkamp joins Partners + Napier from MullenLowe in Boston, where he oversaw a $30 million book of business with accounts such as Royal Caribbean, Google Cloud and U.S. Cellular.

Earlier, Kottkamp spent eight years at Arnold Worldwide, where he worked on Volvo, Timberland and Santander Bank, among others.

“Rob is the puzzle piece we’ve been hunting for,” says Napier. “He leads and inspires by doing, and I can already see his chemistry with the team is something special.”

Napier adds she feels the time is right to "continue fomenting positive change at the agency, rather than let change manage her," she explains. “Growth always brings change — good change. Courtney has been by my side every step of this journey, and now is the time to take what we’ve built and position the agency for more success.

"Courtney has the vision, ideas and smarts to lead the agency we’ve become, and Rob is her perfect complement. Together, they’ll take us to new heights.”

There are no plans to name a new president for the agency at this time; the new leadership team assumes many of these responsibilities. In her previous role as president, Cotrupe oversaw the acquisition and integration of another agency and deepened Partners + Napier’s capabilities in content, social media, PR, analytics and digital.

Cotrupe  also launched the agency‘s media division, which is now its highest growth area.
