Michael Fanuele Departs General Mills For Assembly

Assembly is appointing Michael Fanuele as president to help lead the media agency and the broader MDC Media Partners network to deepen its well of technology, talent and data-driven solutions, while managing Assembly’s strategy, planning, analytics and content development teams.

Fanuele reports directly to CEO Michael Bassik.

Previous president Steven Feuling, who relocated to Los Angeles earlier this year, will continue to oversee the agency’s West Coast operations as president, West Coast.

Most recently, Fanuele served as Chief Creative Officer at General Mills. Prior to going client-side, Fanuele held Chief Strategy Officer positions at Havas and JWT in New York and Fallon in Minneapolis.

His arrival serves as an interesting signal within the broader industry, due to his dual client-agency experiences.

“Michael draws on his unique and rare ability to think like a client and engage like a creative, to inspire us to be a better media agency — not just one that manages media plans, but one that helps our clients find new growth,” explains Bassik.

In addition, Fanuele will serve on Assembly’s Agency Advisory Board, led by agency Chairman Steve Farella, along with Facebook’s Aaron Radin and former Publicis executive Natalie Monbiot.
