The European Court of Justice has ruled social media giants must remove illegal content before they are asked to do so, Wired
reports. It means the tech giants can no longer wait for a
request for material to be taken down and that the court has gone so far as to insist content is removed globally. The site believes Facebook will appeal the global aspect of the decision.
