The U.S. Navy issued a request for information for its new advertising and marketing recruitment contract scheduled to take effect in May 2021.
The last contract was awarded to WPP’s Y&R (now part of VMLY&R) back in 2015. The agency supplanted 15-year incumbent Lowe Campbell Ewald, which became part of MullenLowe.
The Navy’s ad contract typically has an initial one-year term with annual renewal options for four additional years.
When it selected Y&R, the Navy said the contract would have an annual value of more $84 million and a total potential cumulative value over five years of about $457 million.
More from the RFI can be found here.
The U.S. Marine Corps is technically part of the Navy but has a separate advertising recruitment contract. A new contract was awarded to Wunderman Thompson, also part of WPP, in September.
