, Customer Identity Startup, Is Closing: Report, a Toronto-based marketing startup that used email to identify meaningful relationships, is closing, according to BetaKit.  

“We were not able to turn Nudge into the success we had hoped,” co-founders Paul Teshima and Steven Woods told users in a Monday email, BetaKit reports.

Eloqua veterans Teshima and Woods founded the firm in 2014 to help find gaps in shareholder relationships, BetaKit says.

Among its employees was Andrea Corey, a founding developer at Eloqua, who served as VP product development.

Last year, Corey said the company identifies a small group of emails that represent the real relationships that are relevant to a business, according to IT World Canada. had raised around $10 million CAD in capital. 

The firm had recently offered free, pro, and business levels of its platform, BetaKit writes.
