Comcast suffered an outage on Thursday afternoon, affecting internet service throughout the U.S. Complaints peaked at around 3 p.m. EST, with around 30,000 reports coming in, according to downdetector.

“Hey @comcast get a grip on this outage. Hard to work when my internet keeps dropping. ?” wrote one customer.  

“@xfinity app says there are no internet outages in my area. I beg to differ,” said another.  

The complaint level appeared to drop after 3 p.m. 

While there were no specific reports of email being affected, it presumably went out with general internet services. 

Among the reported problems, 94% were internet-related and 3% complained of a total blackout. Another 2% said they had lost TV. 

The most-reported locations included Chicago, Seattle, San Jose, Miami, Houston, Philadelphia and Denver.
