The New York Times has recruited search company LookSmart to bolster its "TimesSelect" subscription service with search and bookmarking technology. Specifically, the "TimesSelect" feature
called "Times File" is using a LookSmart search tool called Furl to help subscribers store
Times articles and other Web content for easy retrieval. While the Times is the first publisher to
integrate Furl since LookSmart began marketing the technology in mid-May, Viacom is also expected to begin licensing Furl soon, according to CEO David Hills.
