Reddit Selects R/GA As First Media, Creative AOR

Social news and public affairs platform Reddit has selected R/GA San Francisco as its creative and media agency of record, the first AOR in the company’s near 15-year history. The selection came after a formal agency review.

With the selection R/GA will work with Reddit’s in-house creative team OrangeRed to develop Reddit’s first ever brand marketing campaign, which aims to showcase Reddit to new users and shine a spotlight on the power of its 100,000-plus communities.

“Over the past 15 years, Reddit has been really fortunate with strong and mostly organic growth, so we’re excited to take a more proactive approach to brand marketing for the first time,” stated Reddit vice president of marketing, Roxy Young. “I can think of no better way of doing this than by showing the breadth and diversity of our communities and how Reddit helps people better understand the world.”

The selection marks the seventh new client win for R/GA SF in the past 12 months, including Google, Airbnb and Slack.

Reddit claims 430 million monthly active users and positions its platform as “a place for all people to unite in shared passions that shape decisions, opinions and culture.”
