Tobaccowala Outgrows Publicis, Relinquishes Chief Growth Role

Nearly four decades after joining as an IT guy in the media department of Leo Burnett, Rishad Tobaccowala has stepped down from his day-to-day role as Chief Growth Officer of Publicis Groupe.

Tobaccowala, who remains a senior advisor and will continue to have a part-time role in the company, is shifting gears to focus on public speaking, consulting and promoting his new book.
Over 38 years at Publicis, Tobaccowala helped develop some of the earliest and most highly regarded technology and digital media operations inside any agency holding company, and helped lead the transformation of Publicis Groupe into one of the most highly regarded digital- and data-let organizations on Madison Avenue.
"[I] remain a senior advisor, still on email, still have office and continue to work part-time," Tobaccowala confirmed Friday, after MediaPost received an announcement that the "former Chief Growth Officer" of Publicis would be speaking this evening at the Chicago Advertising Federation about his new book “Restoring the Soul of Business: Staying Human in the Age of Data.”
