Amazon Prime, Disney, Netflix Top-Ranked For 'Brand Intimacy'

Amazon Prime, Disney and Netflix head this year’s media and entertainment “Brand Intimacy” ranking from MBLM.

Other media and entertainment brands making the top 10 in the study, in order, are: The remaining brands in the top 10 for the media & entertainment industry were: PlayStation, Xbox, YouTube, Nintendo, Hulu, HBO and WWE. 

The study, now in its tenth year, analyzes consumer emotions and bonding with brands. This year’s study analyzed 56,000 evaluations from 6,200 consumers in the U.S., Mexico and UAE of nearly 400 brands spanning 15 industries. 

Amazon Prime is the top media and entertainment brand among consumers older than 35. Millennials and Gen Z ranked PlayStation and Xbox as their top brands, respectively. 

Disney leads with women, while Amazon Prime leads with men. 

Disney is also the top brand among consumers with incomes under $100,000, while Amazon Prime is #1 among those with incomes over $100,000. 

Netflix is the top brand on the “ritual” factor, which measures how ingrained a brand is in daily actions. 

That factor is now also the one most associated with the media and entertainment category. Last year, the industry was most associated with “indulgence.”
