Work-At-Home Sign-ups Cause Microsoft Teams To Crash in Europe

Microsoft Teams, a tool that enables working teams to communicate, went down in Europe on Monday morning, apparently overwhelmed by the number of people working at home because of the COVID-19 virus, according to media reports.

The company says it was “investigating message-related functionality problems within Microsoft Teams,” and service reportedly was restored after two hours.

The problem began as remote workers attempted to log on at the start of the workday.

Of the complaints posted on Downdetector, 64% have been about server connections and 31% about log-in failure.

In another issue, Microsoft Xbox went down on Sunday.
