Choice Hotels Joins 'Stay Home, Send Beds' Initiative

Earlier this month, Leo Burnett and client Serta Simmons Bedding unveiled a campaign to raise money for hospital beds, addressing a shortage brought on by the pandemic.

Now, Choice Hotels is teaming up with the mattress maker to contribute to the initiative, known as “Stay Home, Send Beds.”

Beginning today, members of the hotel chain’s Choice Privileges loyalty program can donate their points toward beds for hospitals in need. Choice will match 100% of donated points for a limited time.

Bravo to Choice and a tip of the hat to all those members that opt in with a points donation. It’s a meaningful sacrifice, especially given the pent-up demand there will be to get the heck out of town for a little R&R once this crisis is over.

“We are so grateful to our nation’s tireless healthcare workers and recognize the increased needs and demands hospitals are facing to support and treat those affected by COVID-19,” stated Robert McDowell, Chief Commercial Officer, Choice Hotels.

“We want to do our part to help those on the front lines and facilitate care for those in need, and right now, every bed counts. Our customers are looking for ways to safely give back during this pandemic, and we’re proud to give them a way to do just that by supporting communities in need and contributing to this important cause,” he added.

A very intelligent move. Helps hospitals AND gets liabilities off their books.
