The Great American Takeout campaign that was launched a few weeks back to support the restaurant industry during the pandemic is zeroing in on a sub-segment—pizza restaurants—with an initiative dubbed The Great American Pizza Party.
The new effort targets the time-honored tradition of Friday night pizza at home and urges American’s to order a pie (and whatever else) from their favorite local pizza joint on April 17.
Food company giant Rich Products will donate $5 to the Restaurant Employee Relief Fund up to $25,000 for every social media post tagged with #TheGreatAmericanPizzaParty on April 17th.
Rich is also helping TGAT sponsor a pizza night-related sweepstakes with the prize of an arcade machine loaded with 60 games.
Other corporate supporters include Marco’s Pizza and Papa Murphy’s Take ‘N’ Bake Pizza. Like the broader initiative, the advertising and marketing behind the pizza night extension is being handled by Los Angeles agency High Wide & Handsome.
