'Outdoor Life' Expands Licensing To Pet Nutrition

Adding to its growing line of licensed merchandise, Bonnier Corp.’s Outdoor Lifehas partnered with Tidy Dog Pet Products to produce a line of natural jerky dog treats.

The product, dubbed Outdoor Life Tennessee Pork Dog Jerky, is a preservative-free, high-quality treat featuring limited ingredients. Tennessee-based company The Knoxville will produce the item.

“Pet nutrition is a category where we see tremendous opportunity for the Outdoor Life brand. Dogs have been long-trusted companions for a wide range of sporting activities, and we are excited to begin this expansion into the pet space with Tidy Dog,” Elise Contarsy, senior vice president of Bonnier Consumer Products, stated.

The treats are expected to be available online in the third quarter, as well as in mass and specialty pet retailers and veterinary offices.

Outdoor Life announced an earlier round of licensed apparel and lifestyle products in March, ranging from sportswear, outerwear and bags to base layers and underwear. It also offers camping gear and other outdoor accessories.

Fellow Bonnier Corp. brand Popular Science is also seeking to expand its licensing opportunities. Popular Science signed with agency Evolution USA earlier this year, following the announcement of a new line of STEM toys. The toy line was created in partnership with U.K. company Wow! Stuff.

According to the company, Popular Science looks to produce “a wide range of tech-forward, branded consumer products, including audiovisual and speakers, power solutions, electronic accessories, lighting, home appliances, home security, home furnishings and housewares, personal care and automotive.”
