Viacom's MTV Networks announced Thursday the acquisition of IFILM, an online film site featuring Hollywood, independent, and user-generated movies, for $49 million. According to IFILM's internal
numbers, the site streams about 40 million movies per month. IFILM will continue to be run by current CEO Blair Harrison, and will be under the direction of MTV's Digital Music and Media division,
headed by senior vice president Jason Hirschhorn.
