Google's Chrome To Block Resource-heavy Ads

Over the next several months, Google’s Chrome browser will start blocking resource-heavy ads, Venture Beat reports. “Examples include ads that mine cryptocurrency, are poorly programmed, or are unoptimized for network usage,” it writes. “Chrome will block these ads because they ‘drain battery life, saturate already strained networks, and cost money,’” according to Google.
