E.W. Scripps, a major publisher of newspapers and operator of TV stations and networks, Friday reported results proving it is better to be in a high-growth TV category than a languishing print medium.
Due largely to the performance of Scripps Networks HGTV, Food, DIY and Fine Living, as well as its shopping portal Shopzilla, Scripps reported that net income rose to $82.2 million for the third
quarter of 2005 vs. $55.6 million for the same quarter a year ago. -- Joe Mandese
