Rose Or Not Rose Is The Choice Offered By New Cannes-Focused App

Like many industry players the folks at mar-tech firm Cognitiv are disappointed that there will be no physical Cannes in 2020. While there is a virtual conference streaming online this week there are no meetings, and no yachts and no parties.

This is why Cognitiv, is releasing the “Rosé / Not Rosé!” app-- to give Cannes regulars a chuckle or two as they ponder the what-ifs.

Once downloaded, users submit a picture of themselves with (or without) a drink and the app will tell them if it is a photo of Rosé or NOT Rosé.

The app is designed to use deep learning and algorithms that are trained to find prospects specific to the KPI (Rosé) and ignore everything else (Not Rosé).

There are also a number of other hidden identifications coded into the app for users to find with different settings and drinks.

The company is launching the app with a wink and a nod to fans of the HBO comedy “Silicon Valley.” The Rosé / Not Rosé! app plays off a running gag in the program featuring a “Hot Dog/Not Hot Dog” AI App.

Cognitiv team members reached out to actor Christopher Diamantopoulos who plays the role of Russ Hanneman to star in an awareness video.

“We were planning to launch our deep learning app at Cannes but despite the COVID-19 pandemic and cancelation of the festival we thought Rosé / Not Rosé was needed even more,” stated Cognitiv’s CEO and co-founder Jeremy Fain. “The entire advertising industry looks forward to this week every year and we are hoping the app can at least bring about a few smiles even during the challenging times our country is facing.”
