Virgin Media was hit with an outage in the UK, affecting email access, according to media reports. 

Downdetector says there are no issues. But it shows that complaints spiked at 8:30 a.m., UK time, from areas including London, Birmingham and Glasgow, to name only few. 

On Tuesday, there were hundreds of reports of trouble in the evening, it also reports. 

According to the Independent, Virgin Media confirmed a technical issue with people trying to access their accounts.

However, a spokesperson said that “Down Detector is not an accurate representation of our network status. There are no widespread or major issues with our broadband, TV, mobile or phone services," the report continues. 

Downdetector shows that 55% of the reports were for cable internet, 30% for email% and 13% for mobile internet. 

Four hours ago, a user posted: “My internet has been down for around 2 days now.”  

An hour earlier, another wrote: “My email is still down. I cannot sign in to get to customer services – still tell me page has expired. Even asked for login details password etc. this does not work either.”
