U.S. News Continues To Lead, Extends Franchise

U.S. News & World Report has launched "America's Best Leaders 2005," the latest addition to the magazine's "America's Best" franchise. The special feature, which can be found on newsstands this week, identifies and profiles the foremost leaders in the United States.

Inaugural sponsors of this first edition are American Airlines, BP, and Canon. Integrated print, event, and online advertising and sponsorship opportunities are available across the program. In a series of essays, "America's Best Leaders 2005" highlights those leaders and explores the critical elements of leadership in the 21st century. In addition to this single-topic issue, U.S. News will continue to profile and discuss "America's Best Leaders" in other formats:

  • Six times a year, U.S. News will feature in its pages a "Rising Leader," providing a three-page profile and portrait photography.
  • U.S. News will periodically host intimate "Leadership Roundtables," moderated by David Gergen and featuring a panel of key leaders, including many of those selected in the "America's Best Leaders 2005" issue. The first of these roundtables will be held in Washington, DC on October 25.
  • A leadership summit will be held in Cambridge, MA in the spring of 2006 to commemorate the selected leaders and to discuss, debate, and explore the subject of leadership. The event will consist of small leadership discussions during the day and a celebratory evening gala.
  • Profiles, photographs, and information on the leaders will be featured on U.S. News' Web site. The site will also provide an opportunity for online readers to participate in an ongoing dialogue with editors on leadership and to access links to other sources of related information.
