Former AMC Networks, Dish Addressable Ad Executive Gaynor Joins Vizio

Adam Gaynor, a former AMC Networks and Dish Network addressable advertising executive, will join smart TV maker and platform Vizio as vice president of network partnerships.

Gaynor will build more network carriage deals for its smart TV platform and will be involved in Project Open Addressable Ready (Project OAR), the technology consortium started up by Vizio.

Project OAR is looking to build an open standard for addressable advertising on connected TVs. It has recently started up market trials with network partners which include Fox, ViacomCBS, NBCUniversal, E.W. Scripps, and AMC Networks.

Gaynor will also look to grow network relationships for Vizio’s smart TV SmartCast platform and its advertiser unit, Vizio Ads.

In December 2019, Vizio launched Vizio Ads, a service where advertisers can buy TV inventory across the Vizio SmartCast platform. Vizio owns Inscape, a smart TV automated content recognition data unit, which has more than 12 million active and opted-in TV devices.

Previously, Gaynor was vice president of AMCN Agility, the data solutions sales team for AMC Networks, and had responsibility for overseeing all advanced and data-driven TV advertising opportunities across the AMC Networks.

Before that, Gaynor was vice president of media sales and analytics for Dish Network, overseeing all addressable, interactive, programmatic, and OTT efforts.
