Two Hispanic Marketing Luminaries Sign On To Make The Case For Biden

Legendary Hispanic advertising and marketing mavens Lionel Sosa and Cesar Martinez-Gomariz are teaming with the Lincoln Project to create a series of political ads designed to make the case for Joe Biden to Hispanic voters.

The effort kicked off today with English and Spanish-language versions of an ad denouncing Trump’s inept handling of the plight of Puerto Rico after the island was rocked by two deadly hurricanes and a series of earthquakes in 2017 that killed nearly 3,000 people and left thousands homeless.

The ad notes that Trump’s response was to blame Democrats for the devastation and also to withhold billions in aid despite the fact that tens of thousands of Puerto Ricans were left without food, water, electricity and other necessities for months. At the same time Trump talked about his “fantastic” response to the calamity and how most Puerto Ricans were grateful. (Spoiler alert: He was lying.)

The ads are airing on Fox News and in outlets in Puerto Rico.

Sosa was a founder of Bromley Communications, the San Antonio-based agency that at one time was the largest Hispanic shop in the country. Eventually bought by Publicis Groupe, the agency closed its doors in 2015 after more than three decades. He was a senior media consultant to three presidents (Reagan and the two Bushes) and was a fellow at the Institute of Politics at Harvard.

Martinez-Gomariz is credited as one of the top media advisors in the U.S. and Latin America, with more than 25 years of experience in marketing, political advertising, and broadcast news. He’s a veteran of four Republican presidential campaigns including Bush-Cheney (2000 and 2004) McCain-Palin 2008, and Romney-Ryan 2012.
