Edison Software Offers New Anti-Phishing Plan For Consumers

Email app provider Edison Software has launched an email security subscription plan called Edison Mail+ to help consumers evade the $12 billion email scam epidemic.

The product is built on “AI-based anti-phishing technology,” states Mikael Berner, CEO, and co-founder of Edison Software.

It is not clear what impact this will have on marketers.

Despite the availability of BIMI (Brand Indicators for Message Identification), only 2% of email senders, including fewer than 100 of the Fortune 500 have valid DMARC ((Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting, and Conformance) configurations, the company claims.

(BIMI allows authenticated brands to exhibit their logos in emails).

The main feature of Edison Mail+ is Verify Sender,  which verifies that the sender is who it says it is. This includes SPF and DMARC validation for determining the origin of an email and whether or not it is a permitted sender and domain owner.

Edison Mail+ also includes Spam Blocker, a tool for blocking calls and texts from strangers or overly persistent senders.

In addition, Edison Mail+ Inbox Caller ID unknown callers and text message senders before the recipient responds.

Finally, the package includes Validate Contacts, a tool that allows users to regularly check whether contact information in their iPhone’s address book matches the details of the email sender.

“Just as you wouldn’t leave your front door unlocked for strangers to walk in, everyone should have confidence that scammers aren’t arriving in your inbox, waiting to strike,” Berner advises consumers.

Edison Mail+ can be obtained on the App Store for $14.99 per month, or $99.99 per year.
