Google Tuesday announced the hire of Johnny Chou to head up the search giant's sales and business development department in China. Chou, who will take the title of president of sales and business
development, comes to Google from UT Starcom, where he was president of China operations for nine years. At Google, Chou will be responsible for building the company's sales and partnerships in China.
He will also jointly oversee overall operations with Dr. Kai-Fu Lee, the technologist over whom Google recently fought a court case with competitor Microsoft. In the case, Microsoft claimed Lee was
violating a non-compete agreement he had signed in his previous contract with Microsoft by going to work for Google. --Shankar Gupta
